UCABAgTech 2019: tested agricultural machinery, celebrated Makoviya and set records

On August 14, 2019, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association together with the UCABevent agency held the largest celebration of Makoviya and the largest field event of this summer. In the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka, on the basis of Agro-Region agriholding , the long-awaited day of the UCABAgTech field took place, which was visited by more than 1300 participants.

On a 21-hectare field, 30+ legendary agricultural machines from the world's leading brands demonstrated their effectiveness in practice. We tested ploughs, disc harrows, deep rippers, heavy disc harrows, stubble cultivators, strip-till machines, vertical tillage machines and mineral fertiliser spreaders. More than 50 companies presented innovative agricultural technologies and up-to-date technical solutions for primary and pre-sowing tillage. The most anticipated new product of 2019 — Fendt IDEAL — was also presented in the static area.

Everyone was able to join the discussion of the case “Innovative technology of corn sowing Agrility” from the product manager of Limagrain Ukraine Vladimir Kuzmich. “Since 2000, the company's hybrids have been tested for different densities and investigated for behavior under different conditions. The main basis for the initiation of this process were the factors that affect the yield: density and hybrid. We, as a company, can help each farmer increase the yield potential at optimal cost. The company analyses satellite data and based on this develops its own algorithm for each hybrid. In 2017, we conducted tests in fields with low and high heterogeneity. The results demonstrated that the service of variable norms of sowing seeds presented by the company will be most effective precisely in fields with high heterogeneity. The service is suitable for use by large and small farms,” said Vladimir Kuzmich in his speech.

During the discussion of the case “Comprehensive inspection of crops and monitoring of the state during the season,” the leading consultant of SmartFarming Vadym Ostapenko spoke about how to most accurately assess the results of climbing: “The classic method of evaluating the results of the seeders is expert observations and calculations, but the human factor often affects the objectivity. At the moment, there is a more accurate and modern solution from Precision Planting — Pogo Stick, which fixes the reference point, counts the number of plants and the distance between them. “ The expert also stressed the importance of assessing external factors: “It is important for all technological operations to track weather conditions, especially for the conduct of work with sprayers. The main indicators are temperature, humidity and wind speed. Such studies are possible using mobile anemometers or small weather stations that are installed on a tractor or self-propelled sprayer.”

As part of the event, visitors were waiting for pleasant surprises, including the establishment of a national record. Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association with the support of catering company grilled 1000 halves of apples with honey and cinnamon for the shortest period of time — 30 minutes. Guests of the event were treated with a sweet surprise.
